Putting a price on free.

How much is free really worth to the average person? It sounds like an odd question until you look at how the word free is used. We are saturated by free, inundated by free, overwhelmed by free. So much stuff is free that I wonder how the heck  can anyone afford to stay in business and still give away so much for free? What about something totally free, delivered to your doorstep, ready to be used, consumed, worn, read, collected, whatever it is you do with it? What would that be worth? I think a little more of that would be a welcome respite from the endless barrage of commerce which blasts us with free offers.

Commerce makes the world go round and everyone has a useful product to sell. The problem is that everyone has to yell louder than everyone else to get noticed. That’s called advertising. Buried in all of that, there are free goodies to be claimed, but separating them from the products they are being used to help sell, is the hard part. Now I get to the point. What is it worth for someone to get all this free stuff that’s out there? If you want to dig it up for yourself you will spend hours searching and sifting through the false promises and free with the purchase of…offers. Who needs the frustration? Besides, isn’t your time more valuable than that?

I think that many people would pay a small fee for a monthly service that searched out genuine free items that were useful and valuable. It would be more than worth the time it saves, looking for all this stuff yourself. Well here is the really good news. We have waived the small fee and have decided to offer you all of this, wait for it…that’s right…Absolutely Free. aren’t you lucky?  ;-)

Free Now (pay later)

You can click on any of the links on our site and find a real freebie. You will not have to pay or be asked to pay but you might end up paying later. I test all of our links to ensure that you won’t be inundated with spam, have your name sold off to numerous marketers who will send you endless emails. That is not to say that the free offer site that you investigate won’t try to market to you. I would wonder if they didn’t. How else are you going to make money besides trying to sell to someone who has just visited your site. If what they have to offer is valuable to you, you might just pay later.

I have found out (much to my dismay) that the worst and most aggressive marketers are the ones trying to get you to “get rich quick”. I have been exploring many different methods to get the word out and advertise My World For Free. I have followed up on, signed up for, or subscribed to many sites that promise advertising to millions of opted in subscribers. All I get in return are vague promises and an exponential increase in the number beside my hotmail inbox every day. These additional emails are not “opted-in” by me and I would consider them unsolicited. I seem to spend more time “unsubscribing” to emails that I never subscribed to in the first place!

They will never earn my business. I do not need that kind of advertising because it goes against everything we are trying to promote. We want to provide a trusted site that will not send you anything you did not ask for. If all you want to do is look and consider then feel free. If you sign up for certain information then that is all you should receive. If you do not want further communication from a site, the unsubscribe should be easy, straight forward and honored immediately.

The free offers that I signed up for (that are listed on My World For Free) have never sent me an unsolicited email. I receive regular newsletters (really marketing emails but containing useful information ie - golf tips) but not spam email offers for products or services I have never heard of. If I did start receiving anything unsolicited I would contact the advertiser and advise them to stop and / or remove their listing from our site.

Introducing Mike’s World For Free

About Us

First A few words about free

The internet and human interaction within it, has evolved when it comes to business. Sure there is still dishonesty so we are ever vigilant (read suspicious) and more cautious than we are in the physical world. But what has really changed is the return of the true concept of marketing. With no boundaries, endless competition, and a completely even playing field, what marketing tactics really work become apparent.  This plays into the consumer’s favor because there is so much available for free, to see hear and play with (in limited fashion). This helps the consumer find exactly what they need.

The irony is that the best source of valuable free content is found on very successful commercial websites. These sites are designed to sell and they do it very well. The owners have literally spent thousands on proven sales copy writing in order to make you buy. Once you are on that site they are compelling you to read so they can cover all of your objections and convince you why you need their product or service. There is nothing wrong with that. Commerce makes the world go around, and this is doubly true on the internet. In the midst of all of this carefully calculated salesmanship, lies the valuable free offer. The free offer gives the seller the chance to showcase the quality of their product. It also affords an opportunity to gain the consumer’s trust which will help with closing the deal, down the road.

If you do go back and buy, then it is great for the seller and great for you. You have had a chance to sample the product, have hopefully compared it to other offers, and have found that it is what you need. If it fulfills your need and you purchase, you have obviously decided that the price is fair and you are receiving good value. In this scenario everybody wins.

The test drive

Aside from a few specialty buffs, nobody ever buys a car after reading some brochures and looking at it in the showroom. The test drive sells the car. The experience, the feeling, the ownership of it for a brief time, closes the deal. I think when you buy a house you should be allowed to stay overnight, maybe throw a cocktail party. How else are you going to know if you really want to live there? That would be a real test drive.

The beauty of internet marketing is in the test drive. Virtual products can be test driven for a limited time after which they need to be purchased.  Partial chapters of information, reduced quality graphics, limited functionality. It’s an electronic puppy dog close. You take it home and pretty soon you don’t want to live without it.

Wouldn’t it be great if life were like this…(I know the credit card company stole my thunder on this but I swear, I thought of this a year ago). Picture this: You are standing in the store looking at this incredible 50 inch plasma TV, and gazillion watt home theatre system. You want it, but the mortgage payment is already spoken for. They work out a nice payment plan that you can handle, but that price tag is standing between the TV and your living room. If that sucker was on your wall for 3 days (preferably on a weekend during the playoffs) and they worked out your payment plan while standing in your living room and preparing to uninstall the TV from your wall, you might feel differently about the price tag. I know I would.

That is why I LOVE THE INTERNET. If you are going to spend your money you can try out so much for free and find what you really want.

Our Members Download Page

If you have not already taken the opportunity to check out our sample downloads you can click here. The free offers listed there often involve sign ups. You should always use a secondary free email account like hotmail for giving out your email to sites you do not know.

We test all of our listings and verify the free offers and email conduct (unsubscribe) of our advertisers. If the free offers are misleading or just a ½ page report buried in 3 pages of sales copy, we won’t list them. We are only interested in quality free offers that we would consider valuable, and would use ourselves. Please report spam or any other abuse to your service provider immediately.

My World For Free launches this summer

This summer we launch our full free directory site. We will list several categories and will have hundreds of free quality downloads, trials and offers. We will have free advertising for basic postings in our free directory (only free offers, and only once verified by MWFF). You can advertise your free offers with us and our only requirement is a reciprocal link with our site. We will also feature new product launches (when free offers are included) with advertising support in our blog and newsletters. Anything valuable and free for our members is welcome on our site.

We will be sending out a biweekly newsletter which will keep our members up to date on free news, free trends, and new free trials not yet posted on our site. We will include links to surveys so we can serve you better. What would you like the most, for free?
